Since Marcel Lettre, C '94 graduated with a Political Science degree from Sewanee, he has devoted much of his career to serving his country. In December 2015, the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed President Barack Obama's nomination of Lettre to serve as Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. Lettre had served in an acting Under Secretary in the same role for seven months. Previously, Lettre has held a number of intelligence-related positions working as a policy analyst on combating weapons of mass destruction, as a staff member for the Senate Intelligence Committee, as a senior intelligence advisor for Sen.
