Study Abroad

Many of our students travel abroad to all parts of the world to continue their studies.  The department encourages majors to study abroad to deepen their knowledge of foreign cultures and politics.  With appropriate planning, students may transfer their courses back to Sewanee and the department to receive credit and to use the courses to satisfy major requirements.  To identify appropriate study-abroad programs and suitable classes, majors should consult with their academic adviser and the department chair.  Sewanee students who are accepted to study-abroad programs are eligible to apply for portability of financial aid from Sewanee through our financial aid office. The deadlines for portability of funding from Sewanee are February 15 (for the fall semester) and Oct. 10 (for the spring semester).
